ALTERNATIVE BIODIGESTERS FOR ORGANIC WASTE TREATMENT Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Schwantes, Daniel; Gonçalves Jr, Affonso Celso; Richart, Alfredo; Miola de Castro, Guilherme; Trespach, Felipe Wagner; Schwantes, Nicole; Manfrin, Jéssica.
The uncontrolled generation of organic waste causes the decrease of the life of landfills. Alternative treatment processes such as anaerobic digestion of organic wastes may be a viable alternative to disposal of such organic waste, and the use of this technology can still generate gains using biofertilizer in agriculture. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the anaerobic digestion of Ceasa vegetables wastes from Cascavel-PR by adding swine manure doses (inoculum) in order to reduce the volume of waste going to landfills. Alternative 12 digesters were developed, and are added 29 liters of effluent (fruit and vegetable wastes) in each reactor, by adding inoculum 3 levels: 0, 1, 2, 3 liters (pig manure). During 50 days of digestion were analyzed the...

Availability of nutrients and potentially toxic elements in hyssop plants grown in sandy soil with mineral and organic fertilization Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Gonçalves Jr., Affonso Celso; Carvalho, Endrigo Antônio de; Coelho, Gustavo Ferreira; Schwantes, Daniel; Nacke, Herbert; Moraes, Alice Jacobus de.
The technologies developed for agricultural production in recent years have faced constant pressure between the increase of production with a sustainable development. Co-products such as swine waste are generally used for soils fertilization. The use of this waste has presented great acceptance by farmers, being used mainly in crops and pastures. However, the inappropriate use of those wastes, results in toxicity for the plant. Nowadays, the scientific study with medicinal plants present itself in constant growth, once that the population demonstrates a tendency for natural or herbal treatments. Consequently, the market for medicinal plants tends to improve their production technologies, looking for higher productions, with high quality and sustainability....

Characterization, classification and disposal of waste in agriculture Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Rossol, Charles Douglas; Scalon Filho, Homero; Berté, Luiz Neri; Jandrey, Paulo Evandro; Schwantes, Daniel; Gonçalves Jr, Affonso Celso.
The agronomic rational use of waste are presented as one option for the solution of environmental problems, but involve expansion of knowledge about the waste and their treatments. This study aimed to conduct a survey addressing the application of agricultural waste, classification, treatment, management and disposal of same. The reuse of waste in agriculture can be associated with classification, control, production, storage, collection, transfer and transport, processing, treatment and disposal of solid waste, according to the best principles of preservation of public health, economics, engineering, resource conservation, aesthetics and other environmental principles.

Phytoavailability of heavy metals and production of tifton 85 cultivated with different sources and doses of zinc Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Gonçalves Junior, Affonso Celso; Nacke, Herbert; Lambert, Diego Rodrigo; Wachholz, Lucas; Schwantes, Daniel; Casarin, Juliana; Mesquita, Eduardo Eustáquio.
The element zinc (Zn) is considered an essential micronutrient to plants, being that the addition of this metal in forage cultivation may cause increment in the productivity. In Brazilian soils are frequent the cases of Zn deficiency, being necessary the fertilization of these areas with this micronutrient. However it must be highlighted that some sources of this micronutrient available in the market present in its composition heavy metals. This work aimed to study the effect of different sources and doses of Zn applied in Tifton 85 and the production of dry matter and the levels of Zn, phosphorus (P), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) in leaf tissue and the levels Zn, Cd, Pb and Cr in soil. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using a...

Post treatment of domestic sewage with Spirodela polyrhiza macrophytes Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Schiller, Andreia da Paz; Schwantes, Daniel; Gonçalves Jr., Affonso Celso; Somavilla, Eduardo; Manfrin, Jéssica; Campagnolo, Marcelo Ângelo.
Wastewater treatment systems for domestic effluents have high efficiency for removal of solids concentrations, COD, BOD and other organic compounds, however, are customarily deficient for removal of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Aquatic plants can be used in wastewater treatment plants, especially with regard to the post-treatment of effluents, in order to removal nutrients and other parameters not previously remedied. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of post-treatment wastewater by aquatic macrophyte Spirodela polyrhiza, still an understudied plant for this purpose. The experiment was carried out between March and May of 2016, for 42 days at Toledo-PR. To this purpose, 250 liters of post-treated wastewater were...
